Leave me alone

Today, I was working at the local grocery store and a customer of mine, who had only bought two granola bars and was holding up my line, tried to convert me to Christianity. Out of all the people to target, she chose the shy atheist who just wanted to do her minimum wage job in peace. FML

Religion is like a penis. It's fine to have, it's fine to be proud of it, but please don't whip it out in public and start waving it around.

People who force their faith on others really suck

Maybe it's a reason Op, to believe in the Lord.

as a practicing Catholic, it really sucks that people like the one in op's FML are giving a bad name to us.

Did you try to convert her into an atheist?

I would have said get your converting ass and shop elsewhere

Truly FYL, OP. Been there! Pushy people like that give any and all religions a bad name.

I'm realizing people keep saying "its not right to force your religion and beliefs on other people". I would like to know how exactly talking about something is forcing it on you? if we talk about hamburgers, are we forcing hamburgers on you

Because we don't want to hear it. Do you idiots actually believe you are the first person to say "Gawd loves you, and so do I, so I don't want you to go to Hell. Convert and be saved by Jesus." No, and when we politely decline, we get screamed at for not believing and threatened for it. So, please tell us how that isn't trying to shove your beliefs down my throat

OP says the person tried to convert her to Christianity. She wasn't just innocently talking about her religion, she was actually trying to push her beliefs on another person.

If YOU are talking about hamburgers to someone who clearly has no interest and won't stop even though their job means they can't leave then yes. You are indeed forcing hamburgers on someone. Just because we can't say 'Please **** the **** off' and keep our jobs doesn't mean we don't think it.

Am I the only person who noticed how awesome this girl spells the name Courtney?

I'm not a nice person. I would have told her I'm an atheist and to please along

I don't think there was anything wrong with her trying to spread the word of Jesus. Even if it took holding up a line.

I see something very wrong in holding up a line and trying to convert someone who is in essence a hostage. Can't leave, can't talk back. Hostage.

She could have told her to leave, she had every chance to talk to her and tell her to leave. And believe it or not, the Christian Bible says to spread the word of God and Jesus, so her head might not have been in the right place, but her heart was.
