Today, my fiancé's parents visited. I keep chickens for their eggs, and his parents own a farm, so we had a connection. They told us to leave the house while they cooked us dinner. When we returned, we faced two steaming plates of chicken. My chickens. They had names. FML

Today, while I was staying at a farm for a few nights, I got really connected to a chicken I met. It was so tame and really cuddly. I legit loved it so much. Later on, we had chicken for dinner. It was the same chicken. He also had a name. FML

Today, I was invited by my boyfriend's parents for dinner at their house. The dinner went well I thought, until I was getting ready to leave. Before I could make it out the front door, I could hear them discussing their disappointment that their son would ever consider someone like me. FML

I agree with #21, this seems really far-fetched. You wouldn't kill your layers, you kill broiler chickens...or you kill the layers after they stop laying. Chickens young and healthy enough to still be laying wouldn't be arbitrarily slaughtered by farmers, of all people.

and whoever said that your body IS a graveyard i agree. plants and animals that we eat were both once living and what are you going to do. not have plants either. live off viteamins? and as they said our cells are dieing every day (ever wonder what your nails are made of). so we are our bodys are grave yards. and also god or whatever scientific reason you believe made our bodies so we need the nurtriants from meats. why would he do that if we shouldnt eat meat.
