I agree the OP should have told his neighbour to be miserable for the rest of his life so that he could conform to your twisted 'morals'.
Bwahahahahaha Oh, you silly moralistic "Gay sex is wrong!" types are ******* hilarious. Run along, now, and have fun with your small-minded worldviews.
If you're straight, you don't have to tell your parents because it's ASSUMED. If you're gay, you have to tell them so they don't have false expectations. Only straight people equate the word "gay" with "sex." When people come out, they're not saying "I like to have gay sex" they're saying "I'm gay." There's a difference. We're not talking about sex explicitly here, we're talking about feelings and relationships. Get it?
maybe it was a play on words?
#25 is right
YDI Next time mind your own business unless you know what's going to happen. That poor kid could end up getting kicked out or his dad could beat the hell out of him because of your advice.
we live in wisconsin (well the OP and I do at least) there are ALOT of homophobes here which is why gay people are afraid to come out. Also wisconsin has a high population of catholic people. so its tough for anyone really that doesnt fit the "quota". Op you did a great job, and am proud of you for being accepting of all people... hopefully the father learns how to love his son regardless
Someone slap #25. What should the OP have done, exorcised the gay out of the kid, too? OP, you didn't do anything wrong. That's not the same as you doing something right, but in the end, it IS best that the kid's parents know. He can't hide it forever. My heart goes out to the poor kid.
Comment moderated for rule-breaking.
Show it anywayYour such an asshole its not even funny, i bet ur homophobic too! especially females? ur a sexist pig
OP, I don't understand why people are telling you that you shouldn't interfere in other people's lives. If you talked to the kid for two hours, he obviously felt comfortable discussing it with you. It wasn't interference at all. You did the right thing, and hopefully you can help the father come to terms with his son's sexuality. As some people have already stated, I think he probably has an inkling what's going on regardless.
yours_truly89: Get over yourself. People can know that they're gay/bi at any age. Don't be such a ******* hypocrite, if straight people can know they're straight as a teen and date people of the opposite sex, then it only makes sense that gay people can know they're gay as a teen. And why the emphasis on females? Who the **** are you to be so judgmental? For the record, I'm an 18 year old gay female - out of the closet since age 12.
Hear hear, ibetitstung. Couldn't have said it better myself. And I've been out since 14, get over yourself.
My parents sort of had the same logic for a while about homosexuality. Even with the "especially females" bit. The way they saw it, women tend to be more emotional and compassionate by nature, so it makes it easier for them to get confused and have deeper affections for their female friends without being gay or sexually attracted to them. I don't think they're using this logic anymore with a bisexual daughter as evidence to the contrary.
The female thing? supposedly its a fad to be out about your bisexuality, for females especially. Most people mistakenly think that its a fad to be a fake bisexual. A lot of people don't even realize they are truly bisexual because the attraction is so meager it never really troubles their mind. any female that claims to be bisexual is probably telling the truth, its just that lesbians get really butt hurt about bisexual girls that aren't willing to make a commitment for the sex they are "only a little bit" interested in. there is a plethora of people who consider them selves straight because what attraction they have to the same sex will only amount to experimentation.
eh, i kinda agree with #33, but only because i see so many kids who follow others like sheep. it seems like quite a few kids between my school and my sisters' are bi or homosexual only because they see someone else who is, usually someone well-known or popular at school. that's what bugs me, that they'll do anything to be just like someone else when it goes against what they originally would do. d:
The OP was in the right here. I will never understand homophobics to be honest, it's most likely because they are questioning their own sexuality and are afraid that a gay will turn them.

That's why you don't get involved in other peoples' business. But FYL because you reall were trying to help the kid.
F the kid's life. D: That's so shitty for him. His parents should accept him :/
