I've had that happen... twice :P
OP, he meant if you guys break up as friends... ur a stupidd person.
wow that's heavy, doc
A) Your friend needs professional help B) You need to deal with this sooner rather than later C) I would recommend saying something like 'you really shouldn't say things like that. Im your friend because I want to be and neither of us wants to feel like it's not entirely optional'
yea, you gotta watch those emo guys. one time both me and my roommate rejected this one guy at different times. he retaliated by spread a rumor that my roommate and I are lesbians. we're both straight, I have a boyfriend and she has a fiancé.
Did you ever stop and think that you're leading him on?
Oh gosh, I'm sorry OP D: If it helps, I went through a similar thing before. The best way to handle it is to just Talk, Explain, and Encourage him. Talk to him, tell him that you felt you were close friends, explain to him the reasons why you'd like to keep it that way and that it isn't him, and if he tries to say he'll never be good enough for anyone, encourage him that hell yeah he will. It'll take some time, and you just gotta make sure you know what's up with him and know he knows what you mean by everything. Best of luck to the both of you! :)
Gotta love moderators Edit: this was supposed to be a reply to #1

I know he's your friend but it appears he really needs professional help. Assuming that you have never discussed being a couple, it now appears that not only is he suffering from depression but he has created a whole fantasy land within his head that you are somehow going out. And that is not a good sign.
Oh wow. That's kind of intense. I'm really sorry. I hope you found a tactful way to tell him that he was mistaken... good luck.
