I'm sorry to hear this... It's happened to me before unfortunately... You just have to tell him straight up how you feel but not to harsh... I'm sorry to ANYONE who has to deal with that. Get him help but still talk to him regularly. I hope you figure things out!!!
couldn't he have meant someone else? how self-centered of you...
Wow.Thats not good.but like most people have been saying ,hes probably doing it for attention.I've had two close friends of mine kill themselves and not once did they ever mention they were going to do it.the signs were there it just wasnt obvious.it was a shock to all of us.Even so just to be on the safe side you should really get him some help. You shouldnt be stuck in a relationship because your afraid of what he'll do.good luck and i hope things get better.
He could might meant " that we ever broke up as friends?" ... maybe. xD
Wow, this guy has sucessfully penetrated the friend zone... amazing... granted he had to stoop pretty low, but kudos..
Just tell him you were never together, so technically you're not breaking up with him. So technically he's not allowed to kill himself. He sounds like a moron anyway, so it shouldn't be THAT difficult to outwit him.
Oh, but of course this "FML" totally indicates that this friend is a moron. It's painfully obvious that people with severe depression are morons. *rolls eyes* maybe if you look at it from another point of view, you'd understand why someone could say something like that. Sure, it doesn't make it right, and in a way saying things like that is kind of selfish and manipulative, but generally the depressed person is not aware of that fact- they are just trying to cling on to what little hope they have left.

I Guess you just have to luv him forever and ever. . . unless, you want him to die. Good luck my friend! 3M0 BUNNI! (_/) (=.=) (")_(")
His being depressed doesn't make it right for him to manipulate you.
True, but he is probably also so desperate and scared of rejection that he doesn't even realize that...But you're right.
ok this happened to me about a week ago and i really have no idea what to do :(

I know he's your friend but it appears he really needs professional help. Assuming that you have never discussed being a couple, it now appears that not only is he suffering from depression but he has created a whole fantasy land within his head that you are somehow going out. And that is not a good sign.
Oh wow. That's kind of intense. I'm really sorry. I hope you found a tactful way to tell him that he was mistaken... good luck.
