Today, I heard my parents having sex. It wouldn't have been so bad if we weren't in the same hotel room. They thought I was asleep. FML

Having sex is not disrespectful to your children. Instead of simply making them aware that you were witnessing the act and highly uncomfortable with it, you chose to do nothing and then come complain on the internet. If you take no action, you can't complain about how it's ****** your life.

Having sex while sharing a room with your child is indeed disrespectful. Would you excuse the OP if the situation was reversed, ie a parent was the one sleeping while the OP had sex nearby? I doubt it.

No, you're right, I wouldn't because I don't know a single parent that would lie awake and tolerate witnessing their child have sex in the very same room.

Irish is right. Besides, the OP was actually being courteous by not interrupting. It saved the parents shame and embarrassment (although they would have rightly deserved it) and let them finish up the business they should have saved for another night.
