Not respected anymore

Today, as a respected artist, I was running a workshop with a bunch of rowdy college kids. I was in the middle of demonstrating a painting technique when I accidentally washed my paintbrush in my coffee instead of my paint water. They waited until I then drank from it to burst out in hysterics. FML

YDI, there isn't a person in the world that wouldn't wait and watch that happen

Just get over this "respected artist" thing you commenters... Focus on what's important than something irrelevant. I think you'll be okay, OP, its not like you drank paint - the paint was dissolved in the entire coffee and you only drank a part of it so it should be fine :)

#26 = fail. Sure artists can accidentally wash their brushes in different cups, but how clueless do you have to be to not notice the difference between your coffee mug/starbucks cup/whatever from what ppl generally use as large metal cans or glass containers. Hope the paint wasn't oil, hahahaha.

#26: "It's pretty clear that nobody here is a retard..." Fixt'

I'd feel bad for you if you hadn't referred to yourself as a "respected artist".

Eww. I hope you were only working with watercolor paint.

I dunno if this is just my experience, but in my school the students aren't generally "rowdy" in class; we're paying thousands of dollars a year to learn, and yeah, we might talk a little, but generally we respect professors. I get the sneaking suspicion the OP exaggerated. And as for the "respected" bit, you know what they say - "Those who can, do; those who cannot, teach." Sounds to me like you can't be THAT well-respected. College students usually give professors the respect they deserve. We're not all stereotypical drunken frat and sorority idiots (not to say that all frat and sorority members are idiots).
