You can't really lie to your dentist about your brushing and (here's something you've never heard of) flossing routine; they can see the results of your efforts right in front of them. Don't worry, the dentist isn't mad at you. You're going to make him lots of money and he'll enjoy inflicting lots of pain on you. They get so bored with us tooth-brushing ******* who come in for cheap and painless cleanings and nothing else.

YDI, more for caring than not doing it. I always just brush my teeth for the last three days before an appointment. Gets me through just fine. But it's not a big deal if I don't.
