I suggest that you awkwardly turn on the radio and slowly increase the volume until her voice gets drowned out.
My mom talks to me about personal things such as these too. My parents will never get a divorce but sometimes I wish they would because they argue sooooooo damn much! OP, your mom obvious needs someone to talk to about this so you could understand why she and your father will most likely divorce. They probably stopped having sex because they weren't getting along vs divorcing because they weren't having sex.
Kind of a random place to be told but nevertheless this is still a sad FML. My advice is to still love your parents because they still love you even if they don't love each other.
Why do parents always choose to tell you things like this in the car?? Don't they get that it makes the rest of the ride awkward as hell?
Agreed ^ when my dad told me he was leaving us he and I were driving around. While it limits the amount of distractions, it also gives you a minor distraction to bring the awkwardness down a level. (if that even makes any sense) I'll take hearing bad news in a car over hearing it while sitting on the couch any day.
Well, that escalated quickly.
I guess the only thing to do would be to jump out of the car and run...
Your parents are throwing in the towel just because they haven't had sex in a few months? Seems a bit drastic to me, but maybe I'm just nieve. You'd think they'd make a concerted effort to "get the spark back" before giving up. I mean, they're MARRIED, with friggin CHILDREN for goodness sake! You'd think that would hold more weight than a few bad months. My guess is that lack of sex is just a side affect of what the real problem is.
That joke is so old...
It ever ends well when nobody is getting laid. Moral of the story : have lots of raunchy sex . Happy humping ! :)

whoa! sometimes parents dont have a filter.
Honestly, if she's telling YOU this kind of info she must REALLY need someone to talk to. be there
