Oh and #31, panic attacks are a PHYSICAL reaction to fear. It's an exaggerated form of what a person normal goes through when they get scared. Blood pressure rises, it may get hard to breathe, and person can have some pretty bad chest pains. As for physical feeling, panic attacks are often compare to feelings EXTREMELY similar to a heart attack, so if you'd ever had a panic attack, you'd know that they are a VERY real thing. Or maybe if you'd had a heart attack, then you could at least know what it feels like.
Don't be stupid.. if she had taken out the needle then your blood would've leaked out of you because it didn't have the chance to clot with your blood pressure so high your blood would've been coming out even faster..
I have panic attacks, so I know they're real. I've been diagnosed with PTSD, though. But I don't freak out at needles or spray tan machines- they usually come out of nowhere. All of a sudden an impending sense of doom descends on me and I freak out, but I just excuse myself to the ladies room until I chill out.
Today, I felt mild discomfort while saving a life. FML
And while reading more of the comments, I noticed a lot of people are doubting whether or not it was a real panic attack, but it could have been. ONE, you DON'T need an anxiety/panic disorder to have a panic attack. Lots of people may have a few in their life times without having a disorder. Two, it's not really anyone's place to judge whether or not the OP's panic attack was real, because they can often differ from person to person, and some can be milder than others. So I really think it's pointless to say they DIDN'T when they very well could've. Maybe they did, maybe they didn't, but unless you were there you really can't judge. Actually, even if you WERE there you wouldn't be able to tell how they were or weren't feeling, so you could never really know. (Just for the record, I do have an anxiety disorder, and have panic attacks almost daily now, so I kinda know what I'm talking about...)
XDDD Ohshit. I feel like I really shouldn't have giggled so hard at that but the thought of the Red Cross stealing is amusing. D: Panic attacks suck anus, though. Those aren't any fun, so I feel for you. :( She really should have taken it out when you started panicking though. Dickwoman.
Well look at it this way. 1.) You faced your fear. 2.) You didn't die, and, judging by the content of your fml, sustained no injuries. 3.) You saved a life. I wouldn't say FML to this, I'd be proud of myself for going through with a good deed that was scary to me. That's putting others before yourself.
Seriously, why would you go to give blood if you freak out over needles? Did you think they'd magically remove it without breaking the skin? :S

HAHAHA!! I'm a fan of any FML that says "the Red Cross stole a pint of my blood..." Good times.
i gave blood in novermber last year and i can faintly remember a clause in all that paperwork that said if at any time you change your mind about giving they will stop the procedure. it sucks that they did that to you. i hope it doesnt deter you from giving blood in the future. its for a good cause. and no. 6 you are a jerk : /
