Panic attack

Today, I went to donate blood for the first time. When they stuck the needle in my arm, I had a panic attack and begged that they take it out. The woman helping me told me she'd take it out in a moment and left. It was then that the Red Cross stole a pint of my blood while I had a panic attack. FML

i gave blood in novermber last year and i can faintly remember a clause in all that paperwork that said if at any time you change your mind about giving they will stop the procedure. it sucks that they did that to you. i hope it doesnt deter you from giving blood in the future. its for a good cause. and no. 6 you are a jerk : /

i'm guessing they made you fill out a number of forms including a waiver or consent form. so yeah, they weren't stealing.

oh don't be such a pussy!! YDI

at least you tried. It's pathetic but i faint at the sight of my own blood. It's so embarassing = ( And it's ok... i'm a wimp too. (yes, being afraid of blood makes us both babies= )

I agree with every negative poster here. Atleast some good came from your cowardice - you probably saved someone's life.

That's kind of weird actually...

Alright. I agree that you were being a pansy. But.. The contract clearly says they have to stop the procedure immediately if you tell them to. So once you said those words, you weren't donating. It was being taken against your will. I agree with you. They obviously shouldn't break contract like that. :( I hope your blood at least goes to someone deserving of it. :

I donated blood for the first time last year. As the nurse pulled the needle out of the plastic wrapping I semi-freaked out and asked if she could hold on just a second while I collected myself and took a few calming breathes. Upon seeing the mild hesitation in my eyes, she THREW the needle into my arm as quick as she possibly could and goes, "There. Can't back down now!"

I have a tattoo on my foot. And You are scared of needles which is why you decided to give blood? (wow) then you claim after signing their papers that they STOLE your blood? Which would imply that If I was scared of getting a tattoo and told them to stop (while they were 1/4 done with the tattoo) because of a panic attack, and they dont stop....they are forcing me to get a tattoo? Your logic is ridiculous. At least I can sit through a whole tattoo without acting like a little bitch.
