Put that in your pipe and smoke it

Today, I was shopping when I overheard a woman telling an employee that she was buying an iPad for her 5-year-old son. Annoyed, I turned around and ranted about how he should have more age appropriate toys. Then she explained that her son is autistic and will be using the iPad to communicate. FML

Why was that any of your business? Y utterly DI

Respect strangers, and mind your own business. Problem solved.

YDI because it was none if your business. I think you're lucky you didn't get smacked with the object or just smacked in general.

I would've done the exact same. You didn't know the kid had a disability, so why you're getting YDI'ed I have no idea. I also, from the first few lines of this, assumed it was just another stupid parent spoiling their bratty kid. I would've said the exact same thing as you.

Why would you? Do you like it when complete strangers fall out to you and tell you what to do?

At what point did she ask for your opinion?.... That's the only appropriate time to give one, ass.

why is it any of your business what she's buying?

I actually agree with the OP, an IPad isn't really appropriate for a five year old regardless, yes there may be some use for it but there are other alternatives for communication that don't involve buying a 600 tablet for a child. Granted the op should have kept there mouth shut but I still tend to agree

Even if he wasn't autistic, how is it any of your business if someone wants to buy their 5 year old an iPad?

144, I didn't realize you were a therapist specializing in autistic children, and that you are an expert on what is best for that particular autistic child. Please, enlighten us with more of your "knowledge".

My son is 6 and the iPad and iPod's are great for games that are not only age appropriate but advanced in technology as well. Why spend all that money on an "age appropriate" game that requires you spend $20.00 dollars for each new "game" to teach him?! Get with the program and see we live in a tech advanced world. He's 1st grade and they have him on computers at school.
