Random encounter

By FML_Elle - 06/10/2012 15:52 - United States

Today, I was walking in the freezing rain when a guy asked me if I wanted to share his umbrella with him. I grinned and told him I did. He then noticed a pretty girl walking behind me and he abruptly turned to her and asked her the same question. FML

He might not have even been flirting with you in the first place, or her. Some umbrellas are really big, and if you're just walking around under a tent big enough for five people in the rain, and you see someone else struggling under the downpour, the courteous thing to do is offer the umbrella's protection. He could have just been trying to help you out because his umbrella was big enough. Then he saw someone else, and maybe meant to extend it to her as well. I've stood under huge umbrellas with other people at schools and such before, and on the rare occasion I carried one with me I shared it with those around me. I don't know, it's very possible that he was just being a shallow dick, but I don't think the possibility of him trying to be polite can be ruled out either.

Sounds like a prank from Just for Laughs lol sorry OP

*Cold Sorry, it was really bothering me. I realize that it was a minor mistake and everyone knew what you meant, but I just couldn't help myself. I had to do it. Have a nice day! :)

*paranoid Sorry, your username was really bothering me, I realize that you pick your own name and it was a minor mistake, but I couldn't help myself. I had to do it. Have a nice day! (Annoying isn't it?)

You should've stolen his umbrella and shoved both of them into a large puddle while saying something witty and clever before making your escape, all while staying completely dry. (:

You started out the story with no umbrella and ended it with no umbrella. It's not a loss if its not something that was yours to begin with. Sure the guy was thinking with the wrong head but its his choice who he wants to share his umbrella with. At least he thought to bring one.
