Remember me

Today, I got a email from my boss. He said he was going to have to let me go for missing so much work over the last week. I was laid off two months ago. I don't know what is more depressing, getting fired from a job twice or the fact it took two months for them to notice I wasn't there anymore. FML

Were you still getting paid for the 2 months?..if not you should umm... "request" your pay.

If it took 2 months for the work you were hired to do piled up so much it became noticable, then I suppose you really were let go because there was not enough work to support the position. Therefore, might be evidence you losing the job was not anyones fault.

wow dude that sucks for u i feel bad... but i guess its good your not working for a total idiot anymore

Ouch. Who on earth would hit "YDI"? Good luck with life, at least it's a funny story to tell :3

Did you at least notice you wern't there anymore?

so your boss emailed you to your home email address? because when you got terminated, your work email would be inactivated right away. that's kinda odd. not a lot of people share their home email address with their employers. just stating the facts...

Something similar happened to me once. In grade 7 I was suspended from the school I would've been going to for not attending, but I've been home schooled since grade 4.

getting layed off and being fired are two different things

@#27 I don't think it's unusally for his job to have his 'home' email. And they don't always terminate your work email right away, just encase you still get emails from other stuff... And he could have also forwarded all his work emails to his home email. Don't be so cynical!

#30, there is no way a company in their right mind would allow terminated employees to have access to the work email after they are laid off, nor they would allow forwarding emails from work emails to home email. That is just absurd. Laid off employees could possibly hold grudges. And also it is very unprofessional to use home email address if you working for a corporate. But without knowing what kind of job OP had before, I guess anything possible.
