Today, my wife created a "Points Reward" system for the privilege of sex. 10 points for doing the dishes, 20 for the laundry, etc. How many points do I need before I can have sex with her? 2300. FML

Like I said, there is just so much we can't know from this FML, so we can't really decide anything- that is a fact. It could be so many things. 1. The whole thing is a joke, and OP thought it'd be a pretty funny FML. 2. OP's wife is a bitch. 3. OP is a lazy asshole, and HAS been asked by his wife many times to help, but he didn't. 4. OP is lazy, and the wife never asked for help before. (Doubtful) 5. OP's wife is cheating on him. 6. OP's wife isn't cheating, but doesn't enjoy sex with him anymore. 7. OP has done similar things to her in the past, so she's being childish and getting back at him. Should I really go on? :) This is just one of those FMLs where there are too many options.

Here's the thing - she wants a man, not a little boy. I was married to a man, who could not hold onto a job, was a complete slob, did nothing to help, and I worked overtime to just to keep the electric on, bills paid... It's exhausting and a complete turn off and eventually I completely lost all desire and respect for him. I never did anything but ask for help. I didn't play games like OP, but you know what - stuff like this is her wake up call to you. My wake up call to him was moving out after which he promised me the moon and the stars, but I realized I just didn't care anymore and divorced his butt. Now I'm married to real man who is a big help - and he never wants for a thing. My advice, if you care about her, examine yourself honestly and see if there are some things you need to change. Otherwise she might divorce YOU.

If she has sunk to the level of changing marital relations from an act of intimacy into an economic transaction, then the situation is far past being a "wake up call". She may not fully realize it, or she may be trying to get him to be the one that pulls the trigger. Either way, whether she knows it or not, _she_ has already devalued the marriage. Maybe it was a reaction to him being a lazy slob, maybe it wasn't. Doesn't matter, really ... what matters is, the damage is done. And you can't un-ring a bell. They need serious counseling ... either marital, or legal.

Here's the thing, if she were a woman, not a little girl, she would sit down and talk to her husband about the problem, and explain rationally, that not helping out in the relationship that she is half responsible for maintaining will have consequences. Namely, if he doesn't pull his own weight, she will leave him. Offering loveless sex in exchange for housework is not a wakeup call, it's hooking. Period. It is an exchange of goods and services. If a man made you a chart that said, Dishes = 1 ********, Laundry = Missionary Sex ect you would think that was messed up! This is exactly the same thing. You do not do that. Now he may very well be lazy and not pulling his weight in the relationship, but a woman does not blackmail someone for sex. If they aren't getting respect in their relationship, they try and heal it like an adult, or they end it.

It's altogether possible she tried talking to him. I was in a common law relationship with a guy like (I assume) OP and he didn't listen AT ALL.

Ha that's funny, maybe if you actually did something around the house then she wouldnnt have made the point system, stop being lazy and help the woman out. Its the 21st century its not just the womans job to clean the house. Unlike the op my husband actually helps, hence he gets all the sex he wants

I have a point system similar to his. She will also take points away if I do not do the chores to her satisfaction. It usually takes about a month to earn enough points for sex. I am a stay at home dad and she has a good job so I have to go along with whatever my wife wants.
