No, the point system is stupid because you should have sex when you both want to, not when you've earned it. Plus, laundry and dishes for 20 and 10 points and sex costs 2300 points? THAT is completely ridiculous. I wouldn't blame the OP if he suspects her of cheating because of this.

The thing is that we don't know if there's tasks (or just one) that gives him like 1000 points in one fell swoop or something. We've only been given two examples of tasks. I'm not saying there definitely is one which is worth loads, but that there might be.

I'm not saying the point system is good, but she obviously did it for a reason. Their relationship is obviously flawed, but yelling for a divorce is just as stupid as calling me an idiot. Cinn, if there was a 1000 point task, then I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be an FML, or he probably would have mentioned it, though. I'm thinking that there's low point task and a high point sex reward, she doesn't want sex from him anymore. And based on that fact, she could be cheating, though I could be wrong.

#47, you are absolutely correct. Unfortunately many of the posters on FML are 13-20 and are ignorant in the way marriage works. The wife would never have to create such a ridiculous point system if in fact the husband was putting his fair share of work in. She is also not "shooting herself in the foot" by removing the privilege of sex because if you are unhappy and tired from cleaning up after a slob all day the last thing you want is to have sex. So she is saving herself from having to turn him down and feign headaches/ect.

Like Cinn said, maybe there are a few high point tasks, most likely her pet Peeves. If the list is primarily household tasks though it will take months to get laid as most household tasks are daily or a few times a week. With the sort of point schedule set out by the op I do believe it's time for marriage counseling.

Brianjman14 - Well, ok, maybe not 1000, but like a large one, like say having a job would contribute a really large proportion or something so that it would only take a few days to get enough points. But that would be going with the assumption she's done this because the OP is a lazy slob, and I don't really like assumptions. It is also possible the OP omitted a potential high point task to make his wife seem even bitchier than she perhaps is. However, what really worries me is that the marriage the OP is in has descended into childish games rather than the two of them being able to maturely deal with their problems.
