Why is someone that senile allowed to have pets? If she can't remember her own grandmother chances are she might forget she has a cat or forget to feed it ect. I know you're supposed to respect your elders, but at some point you have to set up limits to what they can do if it endangers other living creatures.

I might just have ended up hitting her in the face. she really needs to go to a nursing home though. If she forgot that the appointment was today or that you were coming over thats ok. but forgetting who you are completely is messed up. and did you ring the doorbell and wait for her to answer? and then say hey grandma? or did you just use a key and walk on in?
