Today, I was sitting on the bus when a large woman with what seemed like the flu came to sit beside me. After snorting hideously for five minutes, she picked up her scarf, blew her nose into it, and dropped it. It fell on my lap. When I stood up to leave the bus, there were streaks of snot on my new skirt. FML

I'm guessing that the OP was sitting by the window so when the obese woman sat next to her (taking a good portion of the OP's seat too, since obese people don't fit into one seat), the OP was totally trapped. If skinny woman did that, The OP would have a better chance to move away from her or just go somewhere else...

To everybody saying 'what does her being fat have to do with this?' This FML could simply have read 'Today an obese woman sat next to me on the bus' and that, in itself, would be bad enough. Fat = vile.

you are the ignorant fool here Brandi. People can't really control their appearance in terms of stature or facial features, but body weight is well within a person's ability to control and is therefore well able to be criticized.

102 - No, weight can not always be controlled. There are certain medical conditions which either cause the person to become underweight or cause them to become overweight. Some of these can be controlled with medications, but not all. Weight is not always an issue of the person not being able to control their eating/hunger.

I always laugh myself silly when I read all this fat = disgusting bullshit. Most of the people I went to high school with are now fat disgusting slobs. They all started out saying the same kind of garbage about being fat - until they got fat themselves. That woman is most of you in 20 years and every one of you will have the joy of knowing that every single skinny person will think you are disgusting and not give a shit if you live or die.
