Today, I went to the doctor and found out that I am infertile. When I called my boyfriend of 2 years, with whom I was hoping to have a future, to talk to him about it, all he said was, "So does this mean I don't have to wear a condom anymore?" FML

He was pretty insensitive if he knew you wanted to have kids. Although the no condom thing is good news.

He's just looking on the positive side

No, dumbass. It means that you'll never have her babies. And uhm, by "future" she meant children and all. So imagine the blow she just took.

Weird, after two years with him, you two still using condoms ? You've never thought of making an HIV test ? Not using the pill ?

I'm sorry, but on the bright side you can still adopt.

#114 u called me a **** with legs! Lol I put the wrong number post that I was referring to, but if you read my point I totally agree with you!!! That hurts dude! Haha

#114 plus I'm a female and was sticking up for the "big boys" that have should/would give emotional support just like any female would!

I found out I was infertile and my longterm boyfriend responded in a similar way. I wasn't upset with the news (or his reaction.) We take life as it comes. C'est la vie. I'm not really the motherly-type anyway.

I was expecting you to say that he left you because of that, which would suck. So, on the plus side, he didn't do that. But really, there isn't really much he could have said to you. I mean, you can still adopt kids.

...What's the big deal here? There are too many kids around already. You could just adopt one, instead of helping to overpopulate the earth. And really, you just found out that no matter how much sex you have, you will never have to give birth because of it. No swelling like a balloon, no stretch marks, no morning sickness, no back pain, no being stretched down there for the rest of your life. When there are so many orphans, I don't understand why any woman would want to make a child for herself...

Hey, at least he's looking on the bright side! If he's still looking to have a future with you, you should be happy this doesn't seem to bother him! Like 148 said, there are plenty of kids out there in need of parents, and you could do one (or more!) of these poor children a favor and adopt! While it certainly sucks that you're infertile, and that your bf wasn't more sympathetic or sensitive, there are still plenty of things here you can look on the bright side about.
