Today, some friends and I were pulled over on our way back from a party. We'd had a few drinks, so we tried to play it cool just in case we were over the limit. The cop didn't seem to want to breathalyze us, until my really high friend in the backseat said, "These are not the droids you are looking for." FML

I love the internet pious people who proclaim "Drinking and driving is terrible!" because they know damn well they've done it themselves. Tell your friend he'd better get new friends. He blew it.

Ya I've done it, but maybe at 0.02% at most. Doing at anything that would make a cop even think of breathalyzing or being over the legal limit is just ******* stupid. If you have done this you deserve to hit a ******* pole and die.

**** you, I would kill my self before I drank and drove. My cousin was killed by a drunk driver. She was found the next morning in his garage because he was so drunk he didn't even realize he hit someone, and dragged her body to his home. Drunk drivers make me sick.

The original commenter is a moron. I've never drunk-driven. I've never driven, actually. I'd never get in a car with someone who had drunk alcohol. I would plead with them not to drive and I would probably lend them taxi money.

It is terrible ? Whether you do it or not . I've done it once and regret it . It's a poor decision . I've lost good friends because they chose to drive . OP deserves it . Drinking and driving is awful .

I would like to add that pious is not appropriate here. Also I'm sorry to everyone who was insulted by that comment. My cousin was in an accident when her and her friends were hill hopping (drunk of course) I never have nor will drink and drive. It's stupid, and some people have enough common sense to realise this.

Actually have never in my life. Great part of growing up with a paramedic father who isn't afraid to show you the aftermath. Now granted when I was younger I was just as stupid driving exhausted and I'm glad I learned quick before hurting someone and only by scaring the shit out of myself.

Their driver probably had a high alcohol tolerance level. So he could probably drive safely after drinking. Just that he would still be over the limit.

No. No. No. NO. ******* NO. I've seen dozens of drunk drivers in my trauma bay who have said they only had a few and they weren't drunk, but their blood alcohol level was as high as 0.56. If you have ONE DRINK, you are impaired. PERIOD. If you try to disagree with that, then you clearly don't know enough about chemistry and physiology.

Jumping on the ydi for drinking and driving bandwagon. I know a lot of people do and making stupid mistakes is part of growing up, just be glad yours ended in a funny story. Your friend rocks. I had a friend who decided to drink and drive, killed 2 people, destroyed his family and will probably never get out of prison. So good you get caught at that mistake now with a humorous ending so you can learn then doing what my friend did.

I disagree. I don't believe that he learned a lesson from this. Since he must have posted this after getting caught, it still sounds like he's upset that he got caught and not upset that he did it.

If you hadn't been drinking, would you have still made whatever driving mistake you made that led to getting pulled over? What do you mean by "tried to play it cool just in case"? C'mon, you aren't fooling anyone. You were drunk and you knew you shouldn't be driving. Obviously, you failed your breathalyzers too since we're reading this on FML. Well, YDI.
