I am not a smoker, and yes I have friends that smoke. Point being, this comment possessed no useful information whatsoever. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but if you want something to change, don't just be a stereotypical douche about it.

Pretentious, ignorant ****, whatever... but ignorant? WHAT. I'm fully aware of the risks associated with smoking. I know that smoking causes a shitload of potential problems, and virtually nothing beneficial can come of it. I can give you a billion of statistics and facts warning against the risks. I can't really find any reasonable evidence that smoking can have a positive effect on your life (unless you want to get into the subject of medical marijuana, and that's a bit of a stretch because we're talking about cigarettes in this FML). So there's tons of reasons why you shouldn't smoke. Your own personal health, other's health through secondhand smoke, releasing additional unnecessary smoke into the atmosphere, not to mention the BILLIONS of cigarette butts carelessly tossed onto the ground. Animals will eat these, guys. They don't know better! And here is the smoker's sole defense for their decision to smoke: "IT'S A PERSONAL CHOICE." Lmfao. Don't you love that argument? I certainly do. So much logic and reasoning involved, am I right? /end sarcasm

Never said you were ignorant. Just said SOME, which is the majority of the people here who say "YDI for smoking." The reality, most people don't know what they're talking about. I, on the other hand, kinda sorta do. I have asthma from second-hand smoke because my dad smoked around me as a kid. My younger sister, on the other hand, has near-perfect lungs. Did my dad quit smoking? No. He just didn't smoke around her because he realized what he did to my lungs. He still smoke, just not directly around her. So. I highly doubt everyone in the world is severely affected by other people smoking. Unlike most of the dumbasses here who say OMG YDI, YOU'RE KILLING ME, I don't smoke, but I still do believe that it's a personal choice. Cars pollute the environment, and it's a personal choice if you want to drive them. If someone drives a car are you going to attack them and say 'YOU'RE RUINING THE PLANET FOR THE REST OF US!'? No. You won't. And don't give me bullshit about cars being "necessary" in our society. Because they aren't. Do some research.

As soon as my whining gives you cancer (which would be interesting) you can complain. If you did in where no one was walking or behind buildings, then we wouldn't complain. But I am sick of smokers who huddle in front of buildings, school, or where I pick my TEN year old brother up from swimming and then have the nerve to look offended when we ask them to put it out because there are children around. I don't care if YOU want to die, I don't like the smell, I have asthma really bad and it makes me ill just breathing in a little. Its bad enough I live in Pollution Land, you don't have to add to it by smoking around me or my kid sibs.

Oh ok, I'll endure my splitting headaches, and other people can just "deal with" their asthma attacks so you can have a smoke. Consideration for others is so "yesterday"

THANK you! Everyone else is saying the same thing, why are you jumping on me alone. Just because you chose to smoke does mean I do. I am forced to unwillingly breathe in your smoke and get sick. I am literally unable to breathe when people smoke. On top of that my mother lost her father at 16 to smoking and heavy drinking. My grandma continually risks her life smoking while she is on oxygen. It is a nasty habit. People DIE from breathing in smoke, it has tar in it. It is poison. SO you might be able to convince yourself you aren't better off sucking on a car's tailpipe, don't jump on me for being honest. The cigarette boxes have warnings, lists of possible causes of death, impotence, and defects. How am I wrong when research backs me up.
