Sneaky

By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2013 but it's good stuff - United States - Piscataway

Today, I asked a traffic cop if it was okay to park my car briefly in a 'Monday to Friday only' parking spot, since it's Saturday. She politely replied I could. I came back less than ten minutes later, only to find a parking ticket stuck to my windshield. FML

She said you could park there not that she wouldn't give you a ticket.

OP knew it was illegal before he parked there. He shouldn't have parked there knowing that a traffic cop was around, even if he had the permission from the traffic cop. The cops don't make the rules, they just enforce them.

No it's legal to park there Monday-Friday.. not Saturday. If another cop saw the car they wouldn't know OP had permission to park there.

You know cops are legally allowed to lie to you, right? So you deserve it for trusting one.

Anyone can lie. So can you not trust anyone, ever?

The_Big_Boss 20

Now you're getting it! Don't trust anyone. But the cop will lie just to give you the ticket so he can win a toaster or something at the end of the month for writing so many tickets

No, she could park there, just like you can jump off a skyscraper, but in O.P's case, I wouldn't advise either.

You talked to the good cop, but didn't see the bad cop hiding behind the tree. The ol' good cop/bad cop routine is what keeps cities afloat as their tax base crumbles.

She gotta make that quota! Don't hate on her.

Actually that quota is not true at all. There is not requirement or limit on how many tickets an officer can write.

Maybe the cop meant you CAN park there, if you want a ticket.
