Surprise!

Today, I returned to work after taking two days off to find I'd been fired. Why? For not being at work on those two days. Everything was agreed in writing, all trace of which has mysteriously vanished. I can't work until HR sorts it out, and nobody can tell me how long that'll take. FML

Wow. No one could have seen that coming. Atleast HR is looking into it. Hope it gets sorted real soon. Good luck

Get a lawyer, and be prepared to file a lawsuit against them.

That's really terrible. I know it's an easy mistake to make, but try to get a copy of the paperwork whether a photocopy or an email copy. I hope everything works out.

I don't understand how it got from his front to his back...oh, I get it now.

Sorry, somehow I responded to a different message in this one.

Since there was a written document of this, how come you didn't get a copy of it yourself? I would have atleast taken a picture or have it formalized through e-mail.

Always remember to ask for a copy for yourself

Since you are in Texas do you by chance work for any Trinity Industries? If so I think there may be a correlation there.

next time keep the written agreement on u or with u. never trust no one everyone will do u dirty smdh

always keep copies of things people can twist and use against you. Get it in black and white, even mail trail ;)

Email. Always, always, always. Even if it's just, "Just wanted to remind everyone that I will be out of the office on xx/xx and xx/xx, but you can direct any questions and/or concerns to (name of employee who works under you or who will be taking over your duties while you are gone). Thanks! - John Doe." Then, forward the email to your personal account that nobody at your job has any access to. That way, you have a paper trail that everyone knew you were going to be absent and your time was obviously approved.

It's already been said, but I always keep a copy of my leave requests for my records.
