Thieves like us

Today, I found my checking and savings account to both read $0.00. My parents transferred all my money to theirs because "I'm irresponsible, and not fit to handle money." I'm a 3.8 college student and have a full-time job. They are currently unemployed. FML

Well are you 18 or older? If so, you should have to sign permissions for those things. Report it to your bank. If you're a minor, well, definitely FYL.

Okay, first of all: your life does indeed suck. That's terrible. Second of all: why do they have access to your account? Shut that down, bro.

My mother has access to my account, even though I'm over 18. however, she wouldn't do that to me, and it wouldn't do her good if she tried, I have access to her accounts. Mutual respect is needed when both parties are adults.

and trust. pretty sad society where people dont trust parents who raised them, or dont help them in need, or are not honest to ask for help

that does suck. maybe you can have your bank control what your parents can & cannot do with your money.

u don't have seperate account, u Maybe still baby for them...

What's with all these people with joint account issues? I mean this is the second one I've seen now. Don't share if you don't want to SHARE...

I didn't know good GPA directly translated into good financial skills.

Get it back then change ur name so they wouldn't know it but only use the new name for legal matters

For the people who are wondering why his parents have access to his account, I'm a college student too and my parents are signed onto an account with me so that if for some reason I need money and they aren't there, they can just transfer it in. But I do also have my own personal account for my own money.

YDI because your parents are signed to your account.

Obviously they are right -- since you were irresponsible enough to let them access. YDI for not securing your bank account.
