Today, a cashier asked me if I would like to donate to breast cancer research. Since I have already made my donations this month, I politely declined. The cashier snorted and said, "Maybe you'll feel differently if someone you love got cancer." I'm a two-year survivor. FML

I would have said that and then asked for a manager and tell the manager that you are not going to shop at their location anymore and are very offended with the girl's ignorant remark. watch as the manager squirms and gives you deals and then come back, any reputable store would have fired her right then and there. I know my manager would

First of all congratulations on beating your cancer! Second, you really should have, as someone already said, asked for the manager and reported her behaviour. She had no business commenting your decision in that manner.

I'm wondering who the 38 idiots are, who feel that OP deserved that comment? That was beyond rude - whether or not you're donating is absolutely none of her business, regardless of the circumstances.

It wasn't clear to whom she made her donations. When someone asks me for a handout, I smugly say that I have already made my charitable donations. Of course, I neglect to mention I give to the Beer and Hookers for perdix Fund. It's a registered 501(c)3, so you can contribute if you like. Your donation to this fund has a much better chance to achieve its goal than risky cancer research.

You do realize cancer is never 'cured', right? If it goes into remission, that doesn't necessarily mean it is gone for good.

You may want to consider reporting the incident to the store manager - what that cashier said was rude and insulting, and should not be tolerated.
