Today, a cashier asked me if I would like to donate to breast cancer research. Since I have already made my donations this month, I politely declined. The cashier snorted and said, "Maybe you'll feel differently if someone you love got cancer." I'm a two-year survivor. FML

"You know I'm not going to diss you on the Internet, cus my momma taught me better than that!" Destinys child.

Ah, shit. My bad. I confused it with that Christina Aguilara (sp?) song, "Thanks for making me a fighter!"

It's fine! When I first read it I thought, "that isn't how Gloria Gaynors lyrics go.."

The stupid things some people say while on the job. It's one thing to bicker and gossip amongst employees but another to be that rude to a customer AND get away with it. Sickens me.

He is saying they'd never wish such things on anyone or say such nasty things to anyone or both. But I don't think they meant it to be negative I thumbed up...

Ugh. I hate it when shop assistants guilt you into donating money to charity. Not that I mind donating to charity of course, but I could do without the eye-rolls and the sarcastic comments when I don't want to (or can't afford to) part with my money. Especially when they don't know what other charity work I DO help out with. :(

Hope you corrected her!? Can not let that lesson learned escape her by saying nothing!!!

You should talk to their supervisor. They have absolutely no business trying to guilt or pressure people into donating. They deserve to get fired for their smart mouth.

Congratulations on beating it I had lymphoma and have been cancer free for 10 years I know how hard it was for me I hope all works out for you

If I was you I would have reached across the register and back handed that little prick.

To which I usually reply, "Who are you to judge? You're a ******* cashier. Now bag my purchases and go on with your miserable life". 9 times out of 10 that shuts them up. And 3 times out of 10 it makes them teary-eyed and pretty much ruins their day.

What's wrong with being a cashier? I was one, working my way through university. Don't judge, because you don't know everyone's circumstances. You aren't any better than anyone else.

Don't judge... lest the cashier judges you first. C'mon, I'm not sadistic, I'll never fire that line unless I was provoked.

#60: Your first comment said that you "usually reply," and that you basically tell them their life sucks. You even gave statistics. That tells me that you've used that line many times. I don't like to judge people myself, but that comment came off as overly arrogant and egotistical.

joethebiden, some would say that you sound like mitttheromney.

Jesus H. Christ on a pogostick! Only when the cashier gives me intrusive sass! Wasn't I clear enough about that? (Guess not...) Yes, it happens often. Enough for me to be able to compile statistics - and I do think it's a major problem these days with the way shopping establishments do business. But please stop depicting me as a monster, I only fire that mean reply when staff were rude to me first. And Mitt Romney is an asshole. He would have just fired that spear guns he hides in that cane of his. Never mind the fact that you never saw that cane, he left it in his tour bus during the campaign, but if, God forbid, he became president, by golly you're going to see a lot of that ******* cane.

Romney has a secret spear gun cane. I've seen it.

I'm starting to think I'm talking to the real Joe Biden here.

Hate people like that. Works the other way round though. I had a customer come up to me in my McDonalds and tell me that I should have stayed in school. To which I pointed out that I'm a 3rd year university student and half the staff are studying for some sort of degree or PhD, and that the other half of the staff have their degree already.

Exactly!! Not everybody is lucky to land a job right out of college!
