He asked for money to eat. You gave him money, he ate it. Duh. Give homeless things. Food, clothes, a tent. Sometimes they even want to work, bring them home to mow, weed, edge anything, just not cash!

US money is made up of 75% Cotton and 25% linen with red and blue synthetic fibers tossed in to help tell a real bill. Also good with wine reduction and garlic-lemon sauce!! OP, just carry McDonalds gift certificates like I do. They can't buy booze or drugs from fast food places. Or I donate blood or canned goods through work. Or my favorite? I ask "sukker de nyunorsk?" Do you speak archaic Norwegian (more like Danish) in modern Norwegian. Or "surimasen ga, chotto... Itte Eigo shiamasen desu." I'm sorry, there's a problem. I don't speak English! (Lit. I'm sorry, but a little.... Tongue English I don't speak). Either of these are so left field they just blink at me and watch me walk away.

Really? Norwegian isn't a made-up language from lord of the rings.. If you want to impress with your scandinavian heritage, it is: "Snakker du nynorsk" og "Jeg beklager, men jeg snakker ikke engelsk".
