Today, after eighteen years of living with my adoptive parents, I met my biological mum for the first time. She's a forty year old, 300lb American woman who wears 'Twilight' t-shirts and will be spending the rest of her visit to the UK trying to find Robert Pattinson. She says I remind her of herself. FML

See what Twilight does to people. One of the reasons it SUCKS.

I love how you specified that she's American.

Well, she was expecting a Hollywood mom who adopted fifty kids from other countries and was coming back to claim her English child.

I can see how that could shatter your entire perception of life. If I found out that my biological mother was British, I'd probably be just as upset.

I know, that is my point. Expecting your bio-mom who gave you up in the first place to be the sort of person who is ... well a mother is not going to pan out. Sometimes you meet great parents who were just young when their child went away/was adopted out but usually there is a reason people have to give up their child. IN this case the B.M. (Bio Mom) is selfish and slightly delusional. Op has parents, she is lucky to have people who wanted a child enough to go through international chains to get her. Yes, they are genetically related but a mother is more than blood, she is the hard work, care and love it takes to raise a child. THat woman hasn't cared about/for Op for 18 years, Op is a completely different person raised in a completely different culture. Why would you expect a stranger to give up their dream vacation for you?

I am sad to say that American girls are like that. Except they are usually teenagers. EVERYONE WHO IS A TWILIGHT FREAK IS RETARDED! WATCH ANY VAMPIRE MOVIE THAT ISN'T TWILIGHT, AND YOU WILL SEE WHAT A REAL VAMPIRE IS! Sorry that your real mom is insane. Please, do not think badly of Americans

1) You just claimed ALL American girls are like that. How can people NOT think badly of Americans if you are claiming they are vapid, Twilight loving, insane stalkers. 2) While being obsessed with a fictional person (including the personalities put out by actors to get people to buy their shit) is bad, writing in all caps that people need to see what "real vampires" are like makes you just as bad. The fact that you have to take the time during the day to make sure your vampires are separate from Twipires makes you almost as bad. You might not wear shirts with Team Ed on them, but you are still defensive about a fictional being. 3) No, not all American girls (under 20) are obsessed with Twilight. 4) So don't judge Americans by the stupid people who come on here.

Okay dude. You just said, and I quote, "I am sad to say that American girls are like that. Except they are usually teenagers." I just want to say that you're wrong. Because last time I checked, I may be wrong, but just go with with. Last time I checked I was a 14 year old American who hates Twilight. Oh my gosh, no way no way, shocker huh? So why don't you get your facts straight mofo. I swear people like you annoy me.

Did I read that right? "watch any other vampire movie and you'll see what a real vampire is!"? You sound crazier than the Twilight fans.

We disown you, I don't care what ethnicity or country you hail from. I disown you.

She should be thankful for the opportunity to meet her birth mom. My biological parents are dead and I was lucky enough to meet them once before they died. If OP's mother was to die (not that I wish that on her), she would be very grateful (hopefully) that she met her mother no matter what her mother was like as a person.
