Don't kill them. Put poison out. The roaches will ingest it and then you can say they killed themselves. I had a bunch of wasps under an eavestrough of my house fly kamikaze missions into a stream of Raid that I had been spraying outside their nest.
My husband is vegan and he's also our resident bug squisher. 99% of vegans are not as crazy militant these two!
Call an exterminator while they are out. Roaches are dirty and can spread disease. Like veganism.
Mistake number 1 moving in with vegan zoologists. That bug killer may not kill the bugs but it sure will those people.
Kill them anyway. What are they going to do about it?
I can't think of much worse.
Pick them up with something, and put them outside. Feather-dusters work surprisingly well.

Kill them anyway?
I don't care if they don't want cockroaches to die; I would go nuclear on those nasty creatures.
