Today, after shoveling one guy's steps, sidewalk, and driveway for two hours straight, I went to ask for my money. He said, "Work is its own reward!" and shut the door in my face. FML

You're missing something--did he ASK you to do the job, or did you just do it yourself, hoping he'd pay you? If it's the former, then he's an ass. But if it's the latter, sorry, but that's the risk you take. You can't ask people to pay for something they may not have wanted. I personally could not afford to pay someone to do something I could do myself--although had it been me, I would have told you to stop as soon as I realized it, to save you the trouble.

If he owns a car, I'd break one of his car's windows. =/

smash his ******* windows and set that bitch on fire.

You can either do something to his car, like smash his windows, key it, or flatten a tire or two. Or, you can ice up his sidewalk and driveway one day; shovel snow completely in front of his house doors the next; and bury his car on the third. Also, if you did have an agreement for a set amount of pay, you can always call the police and tell them he stole from you. He would legally have to pay.

shovel the snow back on and tell him the same thing

Egg his house on holloween, make sure you wear a mask or costume.

hose down everything you shoveled and see if he can skate.

you should have spent another two hours shoveling the snow back and then peed on his door step. what a jerk though wow

Well least you learned to never shovel the side walk for that guy again and you should of covered his side walk with snow again before you left

If he has stairs, hose them so that it builds a layer of ice so he slips when he goes down the stairs

2 hours of shoveling? Wtf did you shovel, Mt. Everest?

@117 - It probably wouldn't be worth it for $50 (considering court fees and the time involved), but yes, if the man originally offered to pay the OP for shoveling snow, and then decided to not pay, yes indeed he can sue as an "implied in fact" contract was violated.
