Today, after taking my clothes out of the washer, I noticed at the very bottom of the washer my boyfriend's USB stick I found a couple of days ago. The USB stick contains his English essay, and his novel he has been working on for almost six months. FML

Today, I started some laundry late at night. Once my clothes were in the washer for about a half hour, I got bored and I decided I would listen to my iPod. After looking for it for another 15 minutes, I remembered where I'd left it; in my jacket... which is now nice and clean. FML

Today, I had just finished re-completing all my assignments because I had lost my USB last week. I reached into my pocket for gum, instead I found the USB that I had apparently lost. I spent my weekend alone rather than spending time with my friends. I don't have another weekend off for a month. FML

You can just dry it off in the sun... don't use it for about a week so that it dries thoroughly, then it should work just fine. I really don't understand what all the fuss is about.

Yeah, it should still work once it dries out (flash memory=no moving parts). Should be a lesson to your boyfriend, too—clean out your own damn pockets!

I had my USBkey/Flash drive(which ever term you want to use) go through the wash because I left it in my jean pocket and it still works perfectly and has everything on it. I figure it'll probably be fine, but next time, check all pockets before stuff goes in(that's a rule in our house).

It isn't ruined. Just let it dry for about a week, then plug it in.

Is it just me or was the USB stick already in the washer before she washed her clothes meaning the boyfriend was the one that washed it?

Do you think op knows that if you let the USB dry out then everything will still be there? Everything will only be lost if she tried to use it when it was just out of the washer....
