Today, after the longest time, I went to the gym. I ran and ran and ran on the treadmill for an eternity, beating myself up for getting so overweight. Then I tripped and fell off, sweating and sobbing for being so useless. When I looked up, I saw I'd been on the machine for barely 2 minutes. FML

Today, I joined a gym. I’m overweight and not very athletic, so I was nervous. I looked around and tried a treadmill. I start walking at a chill pace, then got ambitious and cranked it to a "light jog." Within seconds, I tripped, fell, and sent the emergency stop button flying across the room. The gym staff ran over and I swear someone said, “Well, at least he’s trying.” FML

Soon those two minutes will turn into twenty. You are putting the effort in, which is more than a lot of people can say for themselves.

Don't worry about being overweight and going to the gym. At least people can see you are actively trying to pursue a goal. Keep your head up OP! :)

if at first you dont succeed..give up

Keep trying, we all have to start somewhere! It's great that you at least did something! One time I fell off the treadmill and the force of it somehow pulled my pants down in front of a couple dozen people..

That sounds like a great FML story! I bet we'd all love to hear it.

I'm not sure why it never occurred to me to submit that..great idea!

It's good that you're doing something about it... Getting started is the most difficult part. For motivation google overweight people who are now fit.. Those people aren't celebrities, just regular folk. If they can do it, so can you!

Don't be so hard on yourself. You're trying and that's what counts. Just keep at it and I'm sure you'll reach your goal. Good luck OP! :)

Don't give up OP. Maybe take it a little bit slower next time. Then before you know it you breathing easier!

Keep going back. Again and again and again. Persistence is the key

That sucks but just keep trying! I was always overweight but running and weightlifting along with cleaning up my diet helped me lose over 30 pounds! Great start and don't feel bad ! It's gonna suck at first trust me .. But willpower beats all pain

That's two minutes more than literally millions of people, subby! Keep at it, you're going to be amazed with the results!

Hang in there and start with walking or the pool. Please remember to be proud of yourself for trying.
