Today, after waking up, I walk into the kitchen to see my two-year-old with a blue sharpie in hand as he says, "Look mom, color!" He left no appliance or cabinet untouched in his coloring masterpiece, and I'm still trying to figure out where he got the sharpie from. FML

Apparently mommy can't go to the bathroom, because that's where I was for a whole 2 minutes while he did it.

A common practice is using the restroom almost immediately after waking up. Being a parent doesn't exempt an individual from this.

3 words: black walnut floors. You know, the most expensive thing and a major selling point in the home we are desperately trying to sell. When I woke up both kids were still sleeping so I took the rare opportunity to take a quick shower without an audience. Less than 10 minutes later I exited to find my 2 year old with 2 sharpies I keep in a "child proofed" (ha!) drawer in my closet. Her room and the living room were decorated, including the floors. Magic eraser worked to an extent but you can still see it :(

That sucks, I know the pain! But please try to look at it on the bright side, at least it wasn't the dreaded 'poop pictures' *shudders* Oh children and their wonderful shenanigans!

Try rubbing alcohol.. cleans it right off.

Buy some Off bug repellant!! It gets Sharpie off almost any hard surface. Spray it on and wipe it off. Just be sure to have a towel that you feel okay transferring all the ink into. Good luck. :)

"These days"? Look when I as a kid I would have gotten beaten with a belt. "These days" people are much less likely to spank.
