Anatomy 101: tear ducts are nowhere near where you could cut it with a straight edge like you find on a paper. Your nose and the rest of the face are in the way. There is another gland that's under the top outside of the upper eyelid and has something to do with tear production. That must be what op means. Either way ... paper cut near the eye ... Ouch!!!

Rubbed my eye once I read it. Sounds painful. Then I cut myself on my thumb about 10mins later. Papercuts hurt more than I remember.
