Today, I baked a chicken pot pie in the oven. I pulled it out, and noticed a big piece of tasty-looking, flaky pastry had come loose. Without thinking I ripped it off and popped it into my mouth. I HEARD the skin on the inside of my cheeks burn. FML

God, I'm so hungry now. FYL though.

So what does it sound like? Just a general sizzle?

This reminds me of that scene in the move 'Grandma's Boy' where the main character is really stoned, puts a bunch of food in the oven, and forgets to put on oven mitts to take it out!

You should never cook again if you don't know things are hot after you cook them.

TO THE PEOPLE SAYING HOW DID YOU NOT NOTICE IT WAS HOT (sorry bout the caps)...Pain sensing neurons are un myalinated so it takes a little longer to be receptive to the pain, especially if you have calloused fingers or even if you are not paying attention. Also some people have a higher pain threshold than others, I know someone who can't really feel anything on their hands. So it might have taken him a little longer to realize it was hot...sadly too long to notice before he put the food in his mouth.

Wow "dang my fingers are on fire, that must just be the pungent deliciousness of the crust *pops into mouth* ahhhhhhh the tastiness is overwhelming" YDI

It's scientifically proven that things just out of the oven are, indeed, quite hot.

#64 - Not always - only if the oven was on. ;)
