Tell someone you're in a lot of pain and ask for something to help you cope. They may not think after your shot that you're feeling a lot of pain. You might not get morphine again, but they should have paracetamol at least. Honestly though, you've had morphine. Perhaps you should try getting some sleep or distracting yourself because that's quite a serious painkiller and not to be rude, but it's just a broken bone. I've had morphine twice, once for a very serious kidney issue and another for the first 24 hours following major abdominal surgery. It's a dangerous drug and it lasts several hours. I've also had two broken bones. I snapped my right leg at the ankle when I was 8 falling from a height; the doctor said it was the worst break he'd ever seen. I had to walk on it to get to the car. No painkillers. I also fractured my left wrist at 10 and it took them three weeks to diagnose it. No painkillers there either. My point is, as much as I sympathise with your situation, if a little girl can manage broken bones without painkillers, I think you'll survive after a shot of morphine. Just try to relax, maybe get some sleep. Good luck.
Everyone has a different pain threshold ya know.?.?.
This is true, which is why I was sympathetic, but my comparison was between a child and a grown adult on morphine. I find it hard to believe there's such a huge difference in pain thresholds in those examples that it's impossible for him to cope with the pain without morphine. Hence the alternative suggestions that don't involve such serious drugs. It probably does hurt, but that doesn't mean he needs such a serious painkiller for a second time. If he did, all he'd have to do is ask for more.
Morphine is not that strong. It's just like how everyone has a different pain threshold; everyone also metabolizes drugs differently.
Damn that sucks. I've never broken a bone and I'm scared to death to know what it feels like. =(. Get well soon OP.
I'm immune to morphine, quit your bitchin.
Smoke some weed seriously it will work better.
broken bones don't hurt THAT bad...then again i've broken/somehow injured just about everything. good luck OP. i hope you feel better :D
That sucks!!
i wonder how you broke it...?
Must be a shitty hospital, they probably ran out of pain killers. Did they give you ice ?

And instead of finding help you post on FML
Good call 104. I'm pretty smart, but I had completely overlooked the fact that OP might have broken her leg by breaking the bone. Thanks for your diagnosis, doctor.
