So wait, let me see if I can get this straight. You broke up with her because you felt unappreciated, okay, but what kind of response were you really expecting? Unless she didn't care about you at all (and if that's the case, then she IS a real bitch) then being dumped must have really hurt her, hence the snarky remark. I'm not saying she's right, and I don't know all the facts. But if you hadn't discussed this problem before, and broke up with her without at least talking through the problem, you 1000% deserve this response. If you did discuss this, then obviously FYL, but I have a feeling that it's more the former than the latter.

No, not really. From experience, I know that when my brother is hurt or offended, he tends to get very sarcastic. With some people it's merely a defense mechanism.

hmm...maybe, just maybe, you were getting fed up with her, so you made the excuse that you "aren't appreciated" and then when she made the joke..you took It the wrong way since you don't like or love her anymore? she could have felt very sad and instead of balling her eyes out she decided to make a joke in hopes that you would laugh or want to talk things out. I mean are you really unappreciated? or are you just thinking that? Now if she was only with you because of you opening her jars..then she is the one with the problem and you can find someone who is better for you.
