Today, I brought my 6-year-old to the mall to sit on Santa's lap. She told him what she wanted and smiled for the picture. When the lady told her that her turn was over, she began throwing a fit, pulling off Santa's beard in the process. This caused all the kids in line to begin sobbing. FML

I would be sobbing too if a kid had enough strength to rip every one of Santa's hairs out of their follicles. Imagine the pain! . . .That IS what happened, right?

I never understood the draw of taking your young children to sit on a stranger's lap. In what other situation would this be ok?

I was never horrified when I found out, I never questioned my trust with my parents either. I always knew the true meaning of Christmas (yes, the actual history of it and the giving side). Our family focus more on the giving to others than receiving. I think we ended up fine.

61- THANK YOU. The majority of Christians today think that Christmas is the day to celebrate the birth of Jesus when in actuality they're celebrating the birth of the sun god from the original ancient roman times.

The sooner they realize he's not real...the better off they'll be!

Ahh... Your the lady who ruined Christmas for my daughter

It cannot be done. Don't pile on additional lies to cover it up. Kids can be smart. OP's child managed to change the beliefs of a group of people with one action. That takes skill. If only it were so easy elsewhere.

Every kid is different. They're not machines that all respond to discipline the same way...some don't even have tantrums. I behaved very badly as a child and I do not blame my parents at all.

Fyl but you so deserve it for having a spout brat of a kid. Next time, up the bum no babies

And people wonder why I won't teach my kids about Santa. It just avoids so many issues.
