I was never horrified when I found out, I never questioned my trust with my parents either. I always knew the true meaning of Christmas (yes, the actual history of it and the giving side). Our family focus more on the giving to others than receiving. I think we ended up fine.

Every kid is different. They're not machines that all respond to discipline the same way...some don't even have tantrums. I behaved very badly as a child and I do not blame my parents at all.
