Today, I called work crying, telling them that I wouldn't be able to go to work tomorrow due to my grandmother's sudden and tragic death. After hanging up, I walked into the midnight release of Grand Theft Auto 5. I had no idea my boss was also an avid gamer. FML

Most people have played hooky from work at some point, but you never EVER use a family member's death as an excuse. That's just horrible. Ydi

Come on, especially he should understand the magic of GTA V

Wow. YDI completely, OP. that's bad Karma. :(

Hope your butt was handed a pick slip. is a video game that important that you have to ditch work by using a sorry lame ass excuse? it's highly suggested to recheck the priority list. New game released at midnight or pink slip and the unemployment line?

wow.. using a family memeber to get out od work to go get a stupid videogame. im into videogames but sorry. ur job is ehat got u the effin game im sure you could have waited and got the game.

Uhmmmm.... You deserved that. hope u got fired. lying sack of shit.

I don't know if anyone else might have suggested this but what if OP's grandma actually did die? However, in that case, OP, you still deserve it because that'd be a poor way to mourn your grandmother--by going to a midnight release of a video game. I don't understand, you could have just waited.

I'm a huge GTA fan, but even I said screw the midnight release. It's much better to call in sick, then while everyones stuck at school or work, you go get the game, I had practically no line cuz of that :3
