Well, it seems to me that if you have to 'come out' as vegetarian, you must live in a highly meat-centric household. If your dad is going to be disappointed in you, openly, because you're a veggie, then I feel he's lost sight of what is important. There is nothing wrong with herbivores and omnivores, but sometimes people mistakenly associate the choice not to eat meat with extreme lifestyle choices. I feel sorry for you for having to deal with your dad's negative feelings, but whatever you do don't be apologetic for your decision. It's YOUR decision and as good as any.
