Today, I confronted my husband over the fact that despite me working two jobs to support us for the last three years, we're nowhere near our goal of buying a house. He actually had the brass balls to defend pissing my money down the drain on his ceramic cat collection. FML

If i was dating you, id brake up with you

Why isn't he working. He shouldn't be buying anything unnecessary like that if he isn't working.

Get a Swiss bank account and put all your Money in it

I'm assuming your husband doesn't work. You married a 12 year old.

Put the money in a Swiss bank account and never let him see a penny

Oh my God, what is wrong with some people? When I married my husband 16 years ago, we had $76,000 in savings AFTER we paid cash for our house. Now we're $20,000 in the hole and I have a house so full of t-shirts and sports memoriabilia that we have 'goat paths' and some rooms are unusable. And still he buys more and I can't stop him. I can't babysit him all the time and eventually he goes online, then announces that another $600 has gone down the drain for a piece of sports crap that just sits in a room gathering dust. The resale is zero because although he doesn't mind sinking us for another autographed helmet, he's too cheap to spend the additional $8 on the sticker of autenticity so we have a house full of genuine merchandise that looks like knock-offs.

You know, you could just write your own fml...this isn't a blog to vent about your issues, this is a comment section. Where we talk about OP's issues. Sucks about your husband though. I think you two should consider therapy or something. He sounds kind of like a hoarder.

I don't actually read comments this long...soooo...

When I see ridiculously long comments like these, I skip over them.

I think you two really need to see a therapist and talk about your husband because it's very clear he has a problem. The debt is only going to grow!

How sad for you, No. 108. You should be checked for a mental disorder. Even a mildly retarded person can read a couple of paragraphs.

Yes, 121, you are right in theory but the problem is that us talking to therapists about how stupid our husbands are isn't going to help. They think WE have the problem because we don't understand their need to sink us into debt over their crap collections. I think it's OCD, plain and simple, but for them to get help they need to admit that they have the problem, not us and that won't happen. I don't know about the OP here, but in my case, our child will simply inherit the debt and the crap. If he's smart, he'll get a dumpster, throw everything in it, sell the house and start over. Most people want to put their kids ahead but I'll be thrilled if mine can start at zero.

Wow, FIVE sentences is 'ridiculously long?' How do you people function in life if reading five sentences is too much effort? The collective laziness of today's society astounds me.

Well stop writing in paragraph form. Its just flat out annoying. Don't put space between sentences it interrupts the flow of your point.

No. 153, that's just insane. Spacing and paragraphs make writing EASIER to read and comprehend, not harder. Justbecauseeveryonetextsgarbagethatreadslikethisdoesn'tmeanthatitscorrectoreasyitjustmeansthey'retexting. Duh. Get a job.

...I swear FML comments have been messed up...this was meant for something else... Disregard my last comment.

Check out yahoo comments, and if that's what you're comparing it to, bring on the trolls.

This is true, but large or weird purchases shouldn't happen without agreement of both parties. If he doesn't have a job, he owes her at least this much.
