Today, I continued my habit of saying, "It smells like lung cancer over here" any time I see a smoker. This guy turned out to be an amateur MMA fighter, and I was his "workout" for the day. I guess his lungs are doing fine. FML

I don't usually see people coming back to comment on their own FMLs, but I wanted to see what people had to say. 136, I don't make a habit of walking by smokers. I've just had a few too many family members diagnosed with lung cancer from what should be called a lethal drug. I wasn't trying to be condescending with my remarks. I was simply giving a harsh reality in a way that could possibly cause him To put the cigarette down. To add on I'll ask a question to everyone: How angry would you be if you found out you had lung cancer or emphysema some second-hand smoke?

Agreed with #93! Also maybe come up with an other line? Like: Excuse me, please could you smoke somewhere else? The smells makes me feel sick. Thank you so much for understanding. Sounds better than the lung cancer shit you came up with ;-)

Or maybe, just maybe, OP could move his lazy ass ten feet to the side and stay clear of the smoker? When I smoke in public, I try to stay away from people but if they walk up to me it's not my damn fault.

I can understand disliking cigarettes, due to their effects on the lungs, but joking about lung cancer around a person who may or may not have it is really messed up. So not only did you joke about a potentially fatal disease, but you still remained insensitive after you got your ass kicked around. Bottom line: You deserved the ass kicking, and the indefinite scolding that you'll most likely receive from the comments on this post.

Good thing you didn't know about the MMA thing before you got the beat-down. If you told him that boxing is the real fighting sport, and the rest is gimmicky junk, things could have been much worse.
