Today, I corrected my mom in front of our family while she was ragging on my 12 year old cousin who got a piercing. She said, "You don't understand you don't have kids, but on the other hand you probably never will!" I have Polycystic ovary syndrome, she is right, I probably never will. FML

Your mom is a bitch. One of my old friends has Polycystic Ovary syndrome. I'm sorry to hear that you have it too =(

ur mom waz a total bitch, but you can adopt! there are too many babies in the world in need of a good home anyway, i know he/she may not be blood related but it feel like you are. btw, i'm adopted, and also many surveys have shown that non-blood related children had happier lives than blood related... but that's just a couple of surveys! Good Luck!

your mom is a bitch. i'd slap her if i were you.

One of my pet peeves is to be corrected/scolded in front of everybody, and apparently your mother feels the same way. There's no reason you couldn't take her aside and ask her to stop without making it a public event. I probably would have said something mean in response too. YDI for being rude and embarrassing your mother in front of your family.

It sounds like the mother was being incredibly bitchy, she was clearly already making a fool of herself, and btw, "pet peeve" doesn't really match "medically unable to carry your own child inside you and experience that bond and have your own child to raise and watch grow up" Just because adoption is an option doesn't mean her situation is any less worse Does being embarrassed when you're being a ******* dumbass dick really give parents the right to insult their children in that way? The mother was being ******* Emotionally Abusive, the daughter was standing up for her cousin, now who do you think is in the wrong Really?!

i have pcos too and have thought about adopting, even if i am able to have kids.. it would be nice to have one of my own but i think id feel better adopting, knowing i was helping out and stuff.. if my mom ever said anything like that to me id slap her

I dont know how severe your PCOS is but there are plenty of women out there with it who have kids... it is now belived to be related to insulin resistance they are learning new things all the time! unless you have ultrasounds proving it or have had several cysts burst i wouldnt believe it! my doc told me i had PCOS and offered me glucophage (common oral med for diabetes) I refused, got another md was treated for hypothyroidism had regular periods and got pregnant with my beautiful 3 month old. :) i hope you can have babies! ps your moms a bitch

Don't worry. My mom has PCOS, she is 34, and still got pregnant with my baby sister WHILE she was on birth control. The pregnancy and labor went smoothly. You still have hope!

my wife has PCOS also, dont give up, together we had one miscarriage then a fullterm delivery, our son is 3weeks old and she was diagnosed at age 13 and told by a top IVF specialist we would need his help

That's a pretty harsh thing to say - you should have told her how much things like that get to you, it was uncalled for. PS: She's definitely a bitch.

what a horrible thing to say. if ever you had a chance to slap your mom, that was it!

She didn't correct her mom on something irrelevant. And what about the kid? Being told off by an adult sucks, I've been in that situation before. Maybe the MOM should have thought about kindly telling the kid to get rid of it instead of being a total bitch and telling her off in front of everyone.

umm.. not all piercings are bad.. i have never been turned down from a job becasue of mine... and obviously the op's aunt or uncle approved of their cousin getting a piercing because they are only 12 and need a parent or gurdian with proff of id to sign the paper allowing them to get the piercing... most states/provinces dont allow people under a certain age to get piercings/tattoos without parental consent. so really i dont understand why the op's mom was getting mad... their sister/brother (inlaw) agreed with it

Depends on the piercing. If the piercing was an ear ring there's a good chance no one will even notice, yea if it was on anywhere else on the face it'll make people look down on you but does anyone notice ear rings? And I hope no teachers and future employers see any non-facial piercings .

Umm...but doesn't a 12-year-old need permission from a parent to get a piercing?! Last year when I was in the States they refused to pierce my husband's cousin's ears because she was under 18 (she was 17) and her parents weren't around to sign the form. So if anything the OP's mother should have told off the girls' parents(who should either be the mother's siblings or in-laws!) for letting her get one...after all they could just have said no...

How is getting a piercing foolish? I'm sure the little girl didn't get a lip piercing. It was probably her ears. I have my ears pierced. Shit, even guys get it pierced and I see a lot of workers with piercings. If you don't get a job because of an earring then that's stupid. I understand lip piercings or something but come on. So lame.
