Leviticus 18:22 YDI
Wow, I'm really sorry OP. Hopefully they just need some time to accept it and they'll be fine with it soon.
I opened the comments expecting to see a ton of anti-homosexuality remarks. I didn't. I'm glad there are still people out there who haven't chained their lives to some story-book.
yea that's what I was expecting to.
Even though I have christian faith, I don't think your parents should try to force you to believe to what the bible says. I have a lesbian aunt and even though my family and I are against this, we let her be lesbian if she wants to. One of my sisters is atheist, but we still respect her in her choice. We don't try to force her to believe anything. The same should go for everyone.
I definitely agree, Christianity is not about forcing religion on people. You tell people about the Word and help them come to God, if they choose not to then that is there choice that is why God gave us the freedom to choose what we believe in
next time they swear bring out the old bible
It sucks that you had to go through that, but realistically, if your parents are religious to that extent, you'd had to have expected some sort of a reaction. In the scheme of things, this is probably on the low end of the scale of things they could have done.
Those sort cast all religious people in a bad light. I'm Christian, and have an openly gay relative. I say good on her, it's who she is. Same to you OP. It's disgusting how some people use religion to push their own agenda: God doesn't hate gay people.
That really sucks for OP. Like others have done, I'd just like the reassure you that we're (Christians) not all like that. I've got a friend who's bisexual with a preference for women (she's a girl) - I didn't know when I first met her, but I've never treated her any different after I found out. Also - seconded what #80 says about God not hating gay people.

I'm so sorry OP. I want to comment before the comments get shut off since moderators seem much more sensitive these days and I know that this is going to turn into a religious debate. I was raised Mormon and have a gay friend that was raised Mormon with me. They tried sending him to therapy, he tried praying it away etc. etc. He is now with his boyfriend. Stay true to yourself and your nature. Don't let a 2000 year old book, translated through multiple languages, with ridiculous messages get you down. You need to be happy with who you are :)
don't let people judge you! just be yourself no matter what people say or do.
