Today, I finally told my dad that he owes me over 400 dollars, and that I need it or else I'd get kicked out of my apartment. He only gave me 70 and said to get a better job. FML

You do not owe your parents anything, because they literally created you. It's their fault you exist. It's their responsibility. You loaned money to your dad. Cool. If you really need it back, he should pay it up. It's not complicated.

It's not "rent money". Even by law parents are obliged to pay for the kids THEY themselves created and thus took on the responsibility for. Don't want the burden? Don't have kids. It's not rocket science.

While you did not ask to be born, your father stuck by you no matter what. There are parents who do horrible things to their children or abandon them completely. He owes you nothing, as you owe him nothing. Be glad you HAVE a father that gave you SOMETHING.

And now her father's giving her the opportunity to live on the streets! He is truly a great man of our times. OP was stupid to loan any money to her family if she couldn't afford to lose it, but if they agreed that it was a loan, the father very much does owe her. Granted, if OP just gave it to him without any such agreement, she's quite the ass herself.

It's your right to the money, if he doesn't repay you then drag him to court or punch him in the nuts everytime you see him. Just because he raised you doesn't give him the right to mooch off of you; to the parents that think he did the right thing, it's your damned fault for not using a condom/the pill and YOUR fault for not keeping it in your pants. If you didn't want to spend the money on a kid then don't have sex/have safe sex and wham 99.9% of the time you're good and without a kid. To the OP, I'm sorry for your father being an asshole but you need to grow a pair and rip his ass off then take over his house as revenge locking him out in the snow and see how he likes it being homeless. O_o

If you're going to lend people such and such (usu larger) amounts of cash, get them to sign documentation when they do, otherwise you'll get nowhere if they refuse to pay you back. This is a reality check, lady. Don't waste it.

What do you mean he owes you $400? He most likely took care of you for 18 years! I'm sure he spent way more than $400 on you and never asked you to pay him a cent.

Yes but op didn't ask to be born and paid for. It's great that his dad took care of him but wtf are we gonna do? Start sending out gold ******* stars because people are doing what they are supposed to do while having a child...fuuuck that. You have a child, you take care of it. Whilst said child is growing up they do chores, are there sometimes if you need company, cook dinner if told etc. They can't pay for themselves growing up. But you sure as **** aren't gonna demand money from your kid once they got a job. Have them help out when they can? Cool. Putting them out like that where they'd loose their apartment...Who does that? Yea the dad was there to be his father but he should be. If the kid was kind enough to lend money and the father kept borrowing, and borrowing, when you are trying to esatblish a life, have a secure place to live, food, bills, school...etc., your parent is jank as **** for putting you out like that. When people can, they do kind things, but it sounds like OP can't afford to be overly generous at this point and the dad does not give a ****. Jaaaaaank.
