Today, I finished the first month of a diet and exercise program designed to help me lose weight. To keep myself motivated, I have avoided the scale the entire time. I weighed myself today. I've gained 6 pounds. FML

Muscle weighs more than fat. If you are excersizing and building muscle mass. That's why

If you have been on a diet before and this would be your second diet after u gained weight, then right now it will be longer until you lose weight again so keep going don't give up

You have to measure ur muscle and fat mass to determine how much u have actually lost.

It's probably because your gaining muscle, muscle weighs more than fat, to you might have gained a net weight of 6lbs, but you're probably gained muscle and lost fat :)

You need to weigh yourself once a week, in the morning, at the same time each week.1litre of water =2.2lbs (1 kg) so you could have been carrying water. You won't have gained and muscle weight in a month. Weigh all your food (portions) and record everything you eat or it won't work.

oh i didnt see that she said she was going out for wrestling

20- you are wrong. You can, in fact, gain muscle very quickly if you eat the right foods. I work as a nutrition and wellness coach, and I even have myself on a program. I lost 6 lbs of fat and gained 2 lbs of muscle in a months time just eating the right foods, not even trying to lose weight just stepping my own nutrition up to motivate my clients. I also have a client that literally traded 8 lbs of fat for 8 lbs of muscle in just 3 weeks.

Also it is neurotoxic, buuuuut people are more likely to stop drinking it when they find out it'll cause them to gain some weight. Funny how that works.

Maybe it was because of that brownie you ate that was half the size of your head.

Keep it up, thoug,h and you'll start to loose lbs :)

I don't understand why people think they can diet without gaining weight. Unless you went anorexic your going to gin weight especially if your working out because your LOSING FAT AND GAINING MUSCLE. so don't complain that's 6 lbs of muslce

You can't do both at the same time though.

just run 10 miles every day and you'll lose weight

The truth is in the clothes (how they fit) not the scale. Don't worry about it, just keep trying and it will eventually pay off.
