Today, I found an injured rabbit by the side of the road. I was about to take it to the local vet, when my husband picked it up and casually snapped its neck. "No rabbit's worth my money" he said, forgetting that he's been a jobless moocher for over 3 years. Pass me the goddamn divorce papers. FML

The big difference is that he didn't do it out of mercy, but selfishness and with a clear lack of empathy. And if the vet couldn't take care of it they probably would've called a wildlife rehab place.

Please be careful. I'm not trying to be an alarmist, but people who casually harm animals often move on to people. I'm not usually someone who cries "divorce" right away, but in this case I wouldn't blame you. Please take care.

Nah, I think you are reading way too much into it. In quite a few places rabbits are considered pests like big furry insects. Killing them is considered no worse than stepping on a cockroach. He may have grown up hunting and if you hunt have snapping an injured rabbits neck or cutting it's throat is something you have done since childhiod.
