Apparently this is uncommon for everyone on the app but where I live it's not really that big of a deal 1.it was injured meaning it was already in pain 2. It's a rabbit they reproduce like crazy 3. Even with the comment of it not being worth his money people around here say things like that all the time, I don't get why you are all making such a big deal about it

Seriously wish my iPad would let me answer individual comments. To the person who thinks rabbits are rodents, think again. A rabbit is a lagomorph. Secondly, I know how the OP feels, supporting a lazy husband who didn't want to work. Yes, I divorced him, and I get why the OP wants to as well. But I think people are reading too much into the whole 'animal abuse' thing. He snapped it's neck - a quick death and much better than just dragging his wife away and leaving the rabbit to suffer. In her place I'd want to divorce him too., but I wouldn't be thinking he's a serial killer in the making. FYI I used to have rodents - pet rats. And my husband knew I'd kill him if he harmed them.
