Today, I found out my identity was stolen. The person got credit cards in my name and didn't pay the bills, which has ruined my near perfect credit. The worst part about all of this is that I can't turn the person in. It's my mom, and sending her to jail wouldn't really work out for anyone. FML

thats probably why she does what she does. If we didnt have consequences for breaking the law do you really think people would follow them as much as we do now?

Turn her in! she needs to learn that even stealing from family is wrong. Grow a set already and go to the police with evidence.

the second she did that she betrayed any moral dilemma you have about her being your mother. she betrayed your trust and the relationship of mother/child. turn her in and get your credit back. she messed up, you can't be the one who suffers

Turn her in. My ex-wife did the same $#it; not just to me, but also her mother, and our 3 kids. How she got Capital One credit cards for minor kids surprised me. But then, 15 years ago, Capital One would probably have given a credit card to the dog & the 2 turtles, too. What's (left) in YOUR wallet? LOL.

turn her in .....put her thieving ass in prision.. show no mercy!!!!

She'll do it again if you don't turn her in....

f**k it, she deserves to go to jail especially if she is okay with doing that to her own loved ones.

I wouldnt hesitate for a second if it was my mom, you break the law you got to jail, simple.

I'd hesitate, yes, but that's due to instinct and not reason. If I was in the OP's situation, I'd know that I have the right--no, the moral obligation--to report my mom to the police, both for my own good and for those of other family members.
