Today, I found out my identity was stolen. The person got credit cards in my name and didn't pay the bills, which has ruined my near perfect credit. The worst part about all of this is that I can't turn the person in. It's my mom, and sending her to jail wouldn't really work out for anyone. FML

thats probably why she does what she does. If we didnt have consequences for breaking the law do you really think people would follow them as much as we do now?

yep **** that turn her in; way to treat ur kids!

That really sucks. I'm sorry to hear that, but if you don't turn her in she might go ahead and do that to someone else, and having screwed up credit pretty well messes up the rest of your life. You can't get a loan for a car, a house, or anything else. It can even prevent you from being considered for certain jobs. She cared so little for you that she just screwed up your whole future, why protect her? Anyone who would get angry at you for it probably doesn't care that much either, so why protect her?

Eff that!! I would report her. People only do what you allow them to do, OP. In the meantime, FYL.

Stop being a pussy a turn her in by not doing so it's just showing her that it's ok.

sue her, simple... just have her pay you what she owes...

Spare the rod and spoil the child. Which in this case, is the mom. Of you haven't advised her against continuing this fraud, YDI. If you have and she still doesn't give a damn about it, its time for the law to put her in her right place.

oh man that sucks!! I know exactly what your going through! my mom did the same to me and I've had hell trying to get her to pay them off! now my credit is screwed beyond belief!!

My mom did the same thing to me. I had ended up turning her in. She took a credit card out in my name and racked up over a thousand dollars just at the vet. Not to mention the other things she used it to buy. I'm a college student who is out on my own. There is no way I would have been able to pay that on my own. I turned her in to the fraud department and my credit has been restored. Sometimes it doesn't matter who it is, you have to consider your future.
